The local emergency services of Fire, Law Enforcement and Emergency Medical Services within Cass County, ND and Clay County, MN formed a consortium to build a memorial to honor those personnel who have paid the ultimate sacrifice while in the line of duty.

The memorial will honor those personnel within these two counties who for whatever the cause, have died while doing one's duty to the grateful citizens of these two counties. The memorial will be located in Lindenwood Park, Fargo, ND.

The memorial stones made of India Black Granite are erected on top of a circle that has a different colored band at the outside. This circular pattern represents the band or circles that all three, though distinct services are inter-connected.

There are total of four granite stones. One stone is the entrance stone which welcomes the visitor to the memorial with a quote from Arthur Ashe. The remaining three stones are the memorials for each of the services with the name, department and time of death.

There are a total of four flag poles with the center flag pole being the highest in length which displays the American Flag. There is one flag pole for every memorial for each of the three services. For example, the EMS Memorial has the Star of Life flag just as the Fire Services Memorial has the traditional Maltese Cross Flag

.

There are multiple historical quotes located in the floor base of the memorial. These quotes are located in between each granite stone. There are multiple spring flowering trees that surround the memorial as a symbol of the celebration and continuation of life.

The memorial will be the focal point for four services annually.
